May – the Month of Knowledge
May was a great knowledge sharing month for us at Dynamo, where we have had a lot of events and possibilities to learn new things!
We started the month of with a “Cinco-de-mayo”-themed After Work – where we went all out with Piñatas, Latin music, tacos from La Neta, awesome decorations, Tequila race – the full kit. It might not be the “traditional” type of knowledge sharing but we did learn some about Mexican culture 🙂
GOOGLE I/O EXTENDED
We held our first Google I/O extended event! Google I/O is Google’s annual developer-focused conference in Mountain View, California. We live streamed the keynote at our office and had about 30 people attending, both external and Dynamates. During the evening we got to know some new people and hear about the newest and coolest updates from Google in real-time!
ANDROID & IOS DESIGN
The 24th of May we had our first Design DynaMeet! Alexandra held a presentation about designing for Android and iOS as well as the differences and similarities between the two platforms. She will write an article about this which we will share so anyone interested can read it.
WEB ALTERNATIVES TO NATIVE APP DEVELOPMENT
Native app development as we know it today is challenged by a number of alternative technologies. On the 30th of May we learned a bit more about two of these challengers: React Native (driven by Facebook) and Progressive Web Apps (driven by Google).
Rameez presented his project at Fotografiska where he coded in React Native whereafter Frej shared his knowledge about Progressive Web Apps and WebAssembly.

CERTIFICATIONS FOR EVERYONE!
Furthermore, the whole management team at Dynamo got certified as Scrum Product Owners by Scrum Alliance, and on top of that four of our talented developers became Certified Scrum Masters!
We are happy to have so much talent and enthusiasm at our company – so much is happening that I barely have enough time to share it all with you!
